What We Mean By This? |
|
We are a people committed to studying and following the teachings of Jesus. At a basic level, believing that Jesus is the Son of God makes Christians different from the rest of humanity, but this difference exists only intellectually. The objective of our faith is to see people transformed by God's Spirit, such that we not only believe something different, but we actually live that difference out in daily life. We understand Jesus to be much more than an inspiring teacher or even a prophet. His ministry on this earth was nothing less than revolutionary. He didn't just teach people about love, he challenged us to love even our enemies. He called us to live a radically different kind of life, and he lived what He asks of us. He taught that this different life was actually what God had in mind when we were created. This is the life we aspire to, not the shallow, selfish sort of Christianity that has given organized religion a bad name, but a deep and profound Christianity rooted in a relationship of love and devotion to our revolutionary teacher, Jesus Christ. Forget what you know, or think you know, about Christians, churches, or religion, and take a fresh look at what Jesus teaches. We believe you will find His message just as fresh, exciting, life-giving, and radical today as it was 2000 years ago when He walked this earth Below are just a few of Jesus' words about how to find true life. Bible references are included so you can investigate these teachings further. |
