Investigating Faith

One of our greatest concerns is discovering ways to share the story of God and the teachings of Jesus in a manner that is accessible and relevant to people in our community. If you have particular questions or concerns we may be able to address, don't hesitate to ask. That's what we're here for!

Whether you are checking out the faith for the first time or seeking opportunities to further your understanding, our Bible classes, worship assemblies, and small groups are a great place to begin (see details under "Involvement"). These opportunities represent at least three diverse ways to explore what the Bible has to say about living this life and preparing for an eternal future.

We also have a library of study materials and tapes of past sermons available on a variety of topics. Just ask and we will gladly steer you towards the study, life group, Bible passages, or other literature that will aid you in your spiritual walk.

Another opportunity unique to this fellowship is our "Selah" contemplative worship service. Once a month, we host this experiential worship format, in which participants are led by a guidebook through 12 "prayer stations" designed to reveal different aspects of God's character. Each time you visit Selah, you can choose from different guidebooks, so there is always something new to gain from the experience. Afterwards, you will have the option of gathering with others to talk about your experience of Selah, and to enjoy fellowship and informal worship.

We believe and teach that those who follow Christ should be baptized in His name. Baptism is an outward physical expression of repentance and of union with Jesus. We immerse believers in water to symbolize the death and burial of the old life, and a raising up into the new life. The power of baptism is not in the water, but in the faith of the believer, so it is our practice to only baptize those who have made a conscious decision to make Jesus Lord of their lives.

Consequently, anytime someone in our fellowship makes the decision to become a follower of Christ, we mark that decision by baptizing that person in water. If you become a believer, we will welcome you to participate in this beautifully symbolic act of worship. If you are a believer but have never been baptized, we urge you to consider adding this step to your journey.
